After upgrading the vSphere environment from 7.x version to 8.0.3 versions, the vSAN file service containers started experiencing restart on a continuous basis and causing disconnections on NFS share connectivity on VCD Cells.
vSphere version upgraded to 8.0.3
vSAN file service version is on 7.0.GA
After the upgrade of vSphere 7.x to 8.0.3 version, the file service containers are restarting per minute basis.
As the file service container is restarting, this is causing the NFS share attached to the VCD cells is experiencing disconnections.
VMware vSAN 8.x
vSAN FSVM 7.0 GA
The issue is caused by missing property of the file share. The missing properties 'protocols' was introduced in 7.0 U1 and the vSAN file service and FSVM are 7.0 GA. Since the ESX has been upgraded to 80U3, it is expecting this property which is missing in the configuration file is causing the file server to restart.
Upon checking vsanfs.mgmt.log, we see the file share type error.
