Issue/Introduction

Can I change my Portal system to use a fully qualified hostname instead of the shortname?

Resolution

To change the hostname of the system, you will need it in a functional state.  In this case, if need be, revert to http using /opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/SslConfig.

From there,

  1. Access /opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/SsoConfig
  2. Choose: 1. DX NetOps
  3. Choose: 3. NetOps Portal
  4. Choose: 1. Remote Value
  5. Take a screenshot of these settings to revert to in case the process does not work
  6. Choose: 2. Web Service Host:
  7. Choose: u for update
  8. Enter the fully qualified hostname
  9. Choose: 7. Web Site Host:
  10. Choose: u for update
  11. Enter the fully qualified hostname

Now, use SslConfig to set up the certificates as noted in the documentation here

Once HTTPS is configured, access the Portal UI then update the Event Manager data source to use the fully qualified hostname:

  1. Administration
  2. Data Sources
  3. Data Sources
  4. Click the Event Manager data source
  5. Click Edit
  6. Modify the Host Name entry
  7. Click in the Display Name section to auto update it
  8. Click Test
  9. If the test is successful, click Save
