During CCITCPGW or CCISSLGW shutdown, a BPXP018I message can occur with COMPLETION CODE 8E422000 and REASON CODE 000001A0. Does this indicate a problem?

Issue/Introduction

During CCITCPGW or CCISSLGW shutdown, the following BPXP018Imessage can occur with COMPLETION CODE 8E422000
and REASON CODE 000001A0.Does this indicate a problem?

Resolution

z/OS uses an S422 abend as a signal to a thread to terminate.  As long as this does not happen during normal operation it is not a problem. During shutdown, we are issuing pthread_cancel() functions which will result in an S422 abend under the covers.
