Issue/Introduction

An anonymous FTP connection allows a user to connect to an FTP server and access its resources without needing a specific username and password for the server.

Users typically log in with a generic username like "anonymous" or "ftp" and use their email address or another string as the password.

Does the Applications Manager RA FTP Agent support anonymous FTP connections?

Environment

Applications Manager 9.x
RA FTP Agent 4.x

Resolution

The RA FTP Agent does support anonymous connections using the FTP protocol (SFTP not supported).

The only requirement is to create an FTP Connection object and in the User field, use the value anonymous.

The password is dependent on the remote server configuration but is generally an email, a specific password string, or any value.

Below is an example screenshot:

This connection can be used in an RA FTP Job.
