Issue/Introduction

  • Precheck has been run for the NSX edge nodes and there is a warning to indicate that there are 0 logical routers on the edge node:

3f9c8bb0-####-####-####-1582c8204646    EDGE    {IP Address=<edge-ip-address>, Compute Id=b570f7e2-####-####-####-c732f12ccdd4:resgroup-####, Number of logical routers on edge node.=0, CM_MANAGER_ID=b570f7e2-####-####-####-c732f12ccdd4} Edge node 3f9c8bb0-####-####-####-1582c8204646 has 1 open alarm(s) present. Kindly resolve the open alarm(s) before proceeding with the upgrade.

  • Checking the edge in the UI, System, Fabric, Nodes, you see 0 logical routers on the edge node.
  • As admin user, the below command, only returns the overlay logical router, no Tier 0 or Tier 1 logical routers:
  • get logical-routers
  • The edge node is part of a cluster.

Cause

The precheck is there to warn that there are edge nodes in a cluster with no logical routers.

Resolution

If this is expected, that the edge node does not have a logical router, as the precheck is a warning, the upgrade can proceed.

If this is not expected, you believed all edge had a logical router, please review the logical router and edge cluster configuration.
