Issue/Introduction

NVMe over TCP datastores are missing after performing an ESXi upgrade

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

VMware vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

Missing Storage IP and port details for Storage NQN within NVME over TCP vmhba adapter. 

Resolution

Check or compare another working host for  NVMe over TCP vmhba adapter to the missing datastore and copy the storage controller details.

• Check controller details in   NVMe over TCP vmhba adapter: 

• Check for target/storage controller details: 

• Copy storage controller details from working host and add in non-working host in NVMe over TCP adapter for controller details.
• Manually add or repopulate the missing storage IP and port details within NVMe over TCP adapter for controller details. 

• Once completed, perform adapter rescan & storage rescan to detect devices/volumes.
