SDDC Manager automated backups are occurring far more frequently than expected. Instead of adhering strictly to the defined backup schedule, backups are being triggered repeatedly throughout the day, outside the designated backup window.
The behavior is expected when the "Take Backup on State Change" option is enabled. With this setting active, any operation that initiates a system task—such as a health check or configuration change—will automatically trigger a backup.
In high-activity environments, this can result in frequent, unscheduled backups. To reduce backup frequency and avoid potential performance impact, it is recommended to disable the "Take Backup on State Change" feature and rely solely on your scheduled backup window to maintain regular backup operations.
