"Certificate Status" alarm persists after updating the vCenter Server certificate

Issue/Introduction

Even after updating the Machine SSL certificate, a "Certificate Status" alarm is displayed in the vSphere Client.

Environment

vCenter Server 7.0
vCenter Server 8.0

Resolution

After updating the certificate, navigate to the vSphere Client's vCenter Server inventory > Monitoring > Issues and Alarms. Select the "Certificate Status" alarm and click Reset to Green. Verify that the alarm does not occur again.
