Failed to upgrade Aria Operations 8.18.3 or Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.3 to 8.18.4 after Aria Lifecycle Manager 8.18 Patch 3 was installed

Issue/Introduction

• When trigger Aria Operations or Aria Operations for Logs to upgrade to 8.18.4, there is "One or more validations for this environment failed" error as below:
  
  
  
  
  
• In Aria Lifecycle Manager UI, Aria Operations and Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.4 are in "Supported Product Versions for Install".
  
  
• Aria Lifecycle Manager 8.18 Patch 3 has been installed before installing vIDM Patch CSP-97577, which didn't meet the requirement in Aria Lifecycle Manager 8.18 Patch 3 Release Notes:
  
  "If VMware Identity Manager is installed and managed by VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle, install the VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7 security patch before installing the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle patch. For information on how to apply the security patch, go to KB 404054."
  
  
  
• On Aria Lifecycle Manager, in /var/log/vrlcm/post_patch_instructions.log, there is "Patch installation failed due to vIDM source mapping task failure":

• On Aria Lifecycle Manager, in /var/log/vrlcm/vmware_vrlcm.log, the "desired upgrade version" is 8.18.3, but not 8.18.4:
  
  "Make sure upgrade of vRealize log Insight instance is supported from current version 8.18.3 to desired upgrade version 8.18.3"

Cause

The Aria Lifecycle Manager 8.18 Patch 3 was not installed completely.

Resolution

1. Following article 404054 to install vIDM patch CSP-97577.
2. Install Aria Lifecycle Manager 8.18 Patch 3.
3. Trigger Aria Operations and Aria Operations upgrade again.
