Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• vCenter upgrade failed with error "Getting VM group name of stretched cluster failed with exception during initialization"
• In lcm-debug.log:

• The vCenters manage by SDDC is not configure for stretched cluster.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x

Cause

The vCenter's name is recorded in the SDDC manager Database and it is case sensitive.
If there is a mismatch, it needs to be addressed.

Resolution

Manually change the vCenter's name with exact case/ spelling, as per SDDC Database entry.
For that change, please contact Broadcom support.
