Issue/Introduction

When running SSP Control Plane and Worker Node VMs on vSAN, Skyline Health may report the following warning:

“VMDK is thick provisioned while vSAN policy is thin provisioned (object space reservation 0%).”

In vCenter, the VM disk appears as Thin Provisioned.

In vSAN compliance check, the VM shows as Compliant with the thin-provisioned policy (OSR=0%).

In vSAN object metadata, the disk shows as Thick Provisioned (proportionalCapacity = 100).

This mismatch causes a Skyline Health alert.

Environment

SSP 5.0

Cause

SSP platform OVA is originally deployed as thick provisioned before being converted into a template.

Resolution

There is no resolution as of now.

As this is a false-positive alert.

It has no impact on functionality or performance of the SSP VMs and can be safely ignored.
