Issue/Introduction
Till Site Recovery Manager 8.7, provision is available to set password to login to SRM database.
There is a marked change with 8.8 and later versions.
Environment
Site Recovery Manager 8.8
VMware Live Site Recovery 9.0.x
Resolution
From SRM 8.8 onwards, database login authentication with password is been removed.
Postgresql is configured to use peer authentication that is to say its done by the Photon OS.
Thus the credentials to login in the DB are the same as the credentials of the users in the OS. No prompt available to enter password as login to the SRM database is made.
Once logged in to the SSH of the appliance that user has a role configured in the DB.
Therefore, no credentials are required to login to the Database.
