VCF Operations for Networks

Issue/Introduction

When querying VMware VCF Operations for Networks using a specific source and destination IP address or hostname, no flow results are found or displayed in the UI.

Environment

VCF Operations for Networks

Cause

This issue typically occurs due to missing data sources, disabled IPFIX configurations, or unsupported traffic protocols being queried.

Resolution

To troubleshoot and resolve this issue, perform the following checks:

  1. Verify that the source and destination servers are part of an active data source added to VCF Operations for Networks.

  2. Ensure IPFIX is enabled for NSX and vCenter to successfully capture verbose flows in the environment.

  3. Verify in VCF Operations for Logs if traffic is actively logged between the specific source and destination servers.

Note: VCF Operations for Networks only supports and displays TCP and known UDP flows.

If the above steps have been verified and the issue persists, kindly open a Broadcom Support case. For more information, see Creating and managing Broadcom support cases.
