Issue/Introduction

In SAMs web the customer need to get automatic report generation for hourly usage of storage groups which should be sent to their emails.

Resolution

This can be achieved using GOA script wizard from Vantage web client.

If  you are using Vantage Storage Point web client following are the steps to create the GOA script on Vantage Storage Groups (POOLS) object.

1. From Vantage Object Tree -> Storage Groups -> Space and Other Attributes .

Click on ellipsis menu (3 vertical dots) next to Space and Other Attributes -> then select 'Create Automation Script' as shown below.

This will open a GOA Script wizard.

2. Please enter a Script Name and then expand 'Historical Data (for scheduled reports)' option. Here select 'Trend-Log Data (LOG)' option. Then click next.

3. On the Period screen, select either Relative Period or Absolute Period and click Next.

4. Enter the Script Title and Description (optional) on the next screen.

5. On the next screen Select the Schedule of how frequently you may need to run the GOA script and produce the report in the email.

6. On next screen Filter is a mandatory. Here you may filter the Storage Groups that you want to monitor or any other criteria on the available fields .

7. On the Select Actions, select the 'Send Email' option.

8. On Send Email screen, select '+Add and email' from the middle of the screen.

9. Fill-in To, From and Subject fields. Then select Build Chart option as shown below.

10. This will open a 'Build Chart screen'. Here fill the Chart Title, select Group By as SG Name. Select the required field for Y-Axis from the drop down. You can optionally customize the X-Axis and Y-Axis label names. Then click Add Chart.

Click Save Email and then click Next. 

On the final screen, select the first option 'Save, activate, execute' and then click Finish.
