Option to replace the Default vSphere ESXI Certificate with a custom Certificate, using the vSphere client is not available

Issue/Introduction

Unable to replace the default certificate in vSphere 8.0u2x with the option:

"Replace with external CA certificate where CSR generated from a certificate authority (requires private key)"

Environment

vSphere ESXI 7.0x

vSphere ESI 8.02 and earlier

Cause

Functionality to replace default certificates with custom certificates is only available in vCenter 8.0u3x and later, need to upgrade vCenter to use the feature. 

 

Resolution

Upgrade to vSphere ESXI 8.0u3x. The option to "Replace with external CA certificate where CSR generated from a certificate authority (requires private key)" will be available.
