After changing the vIDM load balancer URL in Configurator page (8443) the directory authentication no longer works

Issue/Introduction

As part of the a planned change of the load balancer address for VMware Identity Manager, it is required to update the load balancer address in the Configurator page on port 8443.

The change failed while updating the hostname for the Identity Provider.

When now trying to login using a domain you are seeing .../hc/error in the address bar

Environment

VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7

Cause

As the Identity Provider Hostname is set with the old load balancer address the login could not be validated and the connector error is displayed.

Resolution

Before changing the vIDM load balancer URL in Configurator page (8443), login as Administrator to the System Domain and reconfigure each Identity Provider setting IdP Hostname to the new load balancer address. This does require that the new load balancer is configured, e.g.:
