Issue/Introduction

How can I remove / delete Metric / QOS Targets from the DX UIM DB for which data was not collected for a specific amount of time?

Observing the Monitoring governance application i'm seeing few entries with very old Object / Metrics that have not been collected for months or years.

How can easily delete these objects from the DB so they do not appear any more?

Environment

  • DX UIM 23.4.*
  • MS SQL

Cause

Guidance

Resolution

The only supported method for deleting QOS Objects from the DX UIM backend DB is by using the SLM webapp in the Operator Console.

KB GUIDE: How to delete QoS Objects and metrics data

Techdocs: SLM Data Management> The Active QoS Objects Tab

Additional Information

Note: Selecting multiple objects can be time consuming, and also, the SLM tool, doesn't allow to select data for which there was no QOS DATA collected for X amount of months.

For deleting data differently from the SLM portlet, custom SQL Scripts must be executed. These are not supported, and we do not recommend executing them without previous review by Broadcom Technical Support.

Open a case with DX UIM Broadcom support if you need a SQL Script to achieve cleaning up the DB based on your specific need and environment.
