Issue/Introduction

How do you create different disk monitors with cdm for different profiles and for different file systems (FS)  using MCS templates?

You want to create alarms for different thresholds for specific and different FS.

Environment

  • DX UIM 23.4.*
  • cdm 8.*

Resolution

First check cdm MCS Profile Type Configuration for prerequisites and basic concepts about MCS.

To monitor different File Systems with CDM and create alarms using Alarm Policies with different thresholds fo each different FS

Create Metric Profile with MCS:

1. create a Defaut Disk (Enhanced) profile

2.Once deployed, click on "Default Disk" and create a sub-profile to be able to choose the specific File System.

3. For example - Create a monitor fo the FS: "/dev:"

CREATE ALARMS with Alarm policies

to create ALARMS, once profile DISK is created, you'll have default alarm policies on one hand:

If you want a "FS Specific" alarm you'll have to add a condition:

And then chose the metric/group/device and then the specific filesystem:

Example:  /dev:
