Virtual Machine restoration fails from Rubrik

Issue/Introduction

• Restoring a VM via Rubrik on newly added ESXi hosts, fails with the below error on Rubrik :

• The permissions are propagated properly from the vCenter to the cluster and the respective hosts and the child objects

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.x

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x

Cause

While comparing the firewall settings on the new hosts with the older ones, we could see that NFS access rule was not configured for the new hosts

Resolution

• Check with firewall team to validate the rules configured for the newly added hosts.
• Enable the missing NFS Access rule for the ESXi hosts
