Error when trying to upgrade HCX service-mesh "Operation not allowed as appliance has ongoing RAV Migrations."

Issue/Introduction

• When trying to upgrade the appliances after an upgrade, the following message is observed in HCX Manager /common/logs/admin/app.log:
  

  Error: Unable to proceed. Appliance Name: <Service-Mesh_name-IX-I1>, Blocking Service: RAVService, Reason: Operation not allowed as appliance has ongoing RAV Migrations. 

• While reviewing the "migrations" tab in HCX Manager UI, there may be migration groups in "completed" or "errored" state. 
  
  
  
• When trying to cleanup some of these migrations via the UI, the following error is observed indicating these migrations were not correctly marked as completed at the time.

Cause

• Stale entries or tagging present inside the HCX Manager DB can cause a previously completed migration to be interpreted as "in progress". 

 

Resolution

• Perform the steps indicated in the HCX User-Guide linked below:
  
  • Force Cleanup for a Failed or Canceled Migration
  • Clearing the Migration History
• If the above steps still do not allow the completed migrations to be marked as "archived" - please use the API in the following KB:
