Summary reports: Summary reports comprise the charts, graphs, and tables that provide an overview of key statistics for your services.
Summary reports provide data for the specified period across all or individual domains. There are ideal for providing status updates and metrics in a convenient PDF format. You can filter summary reports on Email Security data by domain. Summary reports do not include Spam Quarantine statistics.

Detailed reports: Detailed reports provide a detailed log listing all service activity for all your domains.
Detailed reports are ideal for in-depth service data analysis. They are delivered as CSV files, and can be imported into spreadsheet or database applications. Therefore, detailed reports are ideal for detailed analysis or for generating bespoke graphs and statistics. They contain detailed statistics on your Email Security services. You can filter detailed reports by sender or recipient, fixed or custom date range, domain (for Email Security), and other service criteria.

Configuration Snapshot reports: Configuration Snapshot reports allow you to generate a current snapshot of the configuration for a given Email Security service.
The services covered are: Anti Spam, Anti Malware, Threat Detection, Threat Isolation and Image Control.

The constraints on the data that is available for reporting are as follows
:

  • The limit on the number of rows of data in a single detailed report CSV file is 500,000 rows (500,000 rows are only displayed if each row of the 500,000 lines of raw data is unique. A detailed report summarizes the lines of raw data, and so typically produces fewer than 500,000 rows)
  • There is no limit to the amount of data that is contained in a single PDF summary report.
  • A generated report is available to download for 40 days.
  • You can keep up to 25 report requests per user active at any one time.
  • You can keep an unlimited number of inactive reports.
  • There are limits on the amount of data that is available for certain reports. If you have selected a time period to report on that is not available for the data you have selected, the report is not generated. The request has an Error status.

Data for the services remains available for reporting purposes for the following durations:

Report

Last 60 mins
(full data for the last hour may not be available)
Last 12 hours Last day Last 7 days Last 30 days Last 12 months
Email Summary x x
Email Detailed x x x
Configuration Snapshot x

E.g. If you request a detailed report and select the last 3 months for the period, the output file will only cover the last 30 days (plus a small margin).
