Issue/Introduction

During a Cloud Detection Server investigation you may be asked by the product support to provide the Enforce Server ID. This article describes the process how to find it.

Resolution

To gather the Enforce Server ID via the Enforce Console:

  1. Login to the Enforce Server Console as an Administrator
  2. Navigate to System -> Servers and Detectors -> Overview
  3. Click on the Enforce server to display its details
  4. The Enforce Server ID will be displayed on the details pane of the server in the ID section:

If for any reason the Enforce Console is not available the Enforce Server ID can be obtained directly from the database:

  1. Connect to the DLP database as the "protect" user
  2. Run the below query:
    SELECT * FROM ENFORCEINSTANCE;
  3. The result should look like the example below:
    ENFORCEUUID
    ------------------------------------
    XXXXXXXX-YYYY-XXXX-YYYY-XXXXXXXXXXX
    The X and Y characters will be respectively either letters or digits of the current Enforce ID.

When providing the Enforce Server ID to the product support make sure to copy the entire UUID, rather than taking a screenshot.

Additional Information

The Enforce Server ID is the unique server identifier that is used when binding the enrolled Cloud Detection Servers to the Enforce Server within the cloud account. The ID has a format of a standardized UUID with 5 letters/numbers blocks separated with dashes "-".
