Operations, Diagnostics or control panel tabs may be missing in Aria operations UI

Issue/Introduction

• Non local users such as domain users may have one or more tabs missing after logging into Aria Operations UI
• All tabs are visible when logging in as admin user

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the role assigned to the user does not have the required privileges

Resolution

To resolve this issue validate the privileges assigned to the role by following the below steps:

• Login to Aria Operations UI as a admin user
• From the left menu, click Administration>Control Panel, and then click the Access Control tile.
• Under User Accounts, select the affected user and make a note of assigned role under "Roles and scope"

Note: If the user is part of a group, check under "User Groups" for the assigned role

• Go to Roles and select the role which the affected user is part of. All the privileges assigned to the role will be listed in the right pane
• Validate if the role has the required privileges selected.

Example: To see Diagnostics tab in UI, Diagnostics>>Diagnostics Menu should be selected in the Role. 

Note: If this issue occurs when the user or group is assigned the default Administrators role in Aria Operations, validate the privileges of the Administrators role using the above procedure.
