Issue/Introduction

  • Failure "Configure Virtual IP (VIP) for NSX Management Cluster" is observed when deploying VCF 9.

Environment

VCF 9.0

Cause

The NSX Manager VIP IP needs to be in the same subnet as the NSX Manager IP and the VIP install will fail if it is not.

Resolution

As this failure occurs during the deployment phase, the VCF 9 Installer deployment will need to be re-ran with an IP on the same subnet as the NSX Manager configured.

Additional Information

When re-deploying VCF 9 using the same vCenter Server, you may run into an error indicating existing SDDC Manager extensions are found on the vCenter that need cleaned up before a re-deployment can proceed. See KB 404182 for more information on this.

For more information regarding IP subnet requirements for VCF 9 deployments, see VCF 9.0 Deployment of NSX Workload Domain in unable to proceed with error message “IP address and default gateway must be on the same subnet.”
