How to upgrade system WA Agent via DE desktop client?

Issue/Introduction

What are the steps to upgrade WA agent directly from dSeries Desktop Client (DC)?

 

Environment

Workload Automation DE / ESP dSeries : 12.4 or above

Workload Automation Desktop Client: 12.4 or above

Resolution

To upgrade an agent, upload the Agent DVD in Desktop Client (DC), see here.   The Agent DVD / ISO must local to DC.
 
Provide the exact format for Version Details, e.g 12.1.00 or 12.1.01 (see screenshot)
 
 
Select the OS of the agent that will be upgraded. Only one OS may be selected at a time to Upload the setup.
If the desktop client shows successful upload then the DE has the setup ready for upgrade.  
 
Then, stage the agent to upgrade, see details here.  Next upgrade the agent. 
 
Note: It is recommended to stop all the jobs that are running.  If you have file-monitors and / or long running jobs then stop or complete them before upgrading, as they can cause upgrade to fail in some OS like Windows.
On Linux OS, make sure /tmp has exec permissions, see here.
Make sure port 8080 on DE server is open to Desktop Client machine.
