PDSMAN 7.7 abend S106-00 with IBM Health Checker

Issue/Introduction

A S106-00 ABEND occurred in the PDSMAN address space during the execution of a PDSMAN Health Check. IBM Health Checks had been started immediately before the ABEND, causing PDSMAN Health Checks to be triggered.

In this case, the PDSMAN started task was not executing with REGION=0M specified. SVC dump information for this occurrence was:

Cause

The region size specified for the PDSMAN address space was insufficient, resulting in a storage shortage when executing the PDSMAN Health Checks. The distributed sample PDSMAN address space JCL procedure specifies REGION=2M which, in some cases, is too small due to subsequent enhancements that have been made to the product.

Resolution

Change the EXEC statement in the PDSMAN address space started task procedure to specify REGION=0M.
