Issue/Introduction

During an upgrade of Aria Automation 8.18.1 to VCF Automation 9 initiated through VCF Operations Fleet Management, the process may fail at stage 8 with error code LCMVMSP10006. This issue occurs when the Primary VIP is incorrectly configured to the NLB address instead of the required Node 1 IP.

Environment

VCF Automation 9.x

Cause

The Primary VIP could be misconfigured to point to the VRA 8 NLB address rather than the VRA 8 Node 1 IP.

  • According to upgrade documentation, the Primary VIP must point to Node 1 in the VRA 8 cluster.
  • Using the NLB address prevents API requests from reaching the correct node, causing the workflow to fail.

Resolution

  • Correct the configuration before retrying the upgrade:

    • Primary VIP = VRA 8 Node 1 IP

    • Additional VIPs = VRA 8 Node 2 and Node 3 IPs

    • Cluster Node IP Pool = 6 free IPs

  • Re-run the upgrade workflow from VCF Operations Fleet Management.
