When you navigate to the Marketplace within the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x UI, you find that the content list is empty, or it appears to be stuck in a permanent loading state. Modifying firewall or network rules does not resolve the issue, and no content is ever displayed for online download.
VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x (all versions up to and including 8.16)
This is expected behavior. The online service endpoints that Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x used to automatically sync and download content from the VMware Marketplace have been permanently decommissioned as of February 2024. This change is a result of the Broadcom acquisition of VMware and the retirement of legacy backend services.
This is documented in the official VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.16 Release Notes. The product is functioning as designed, but the online sync feature has been retired.
The standard and correct procedure for adding new product binaries or marketplace content to Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x is to perform a manual download and import. The direct online download feature is no longer available.
Navigate to the Broadcom Support Portal in your web browser.
Search for and locate the specific product content pack you wish to add (e.g., Aria Operations Content, Aria Automation Orchestrator Plugins, etc.).
Download the content file (typically a .pak file) to your local workstation.
Log in to your Aria Suite Lifecycle appliance UI.
Navigate to the appropriate section for managing content. For product installation files, this is typically Lifecycle Operations > Settings > Binary Mapping.
Use the ADD BINARIES or IMPORT functionality and select the option to upload the file you downloaded from the support portal.
This manual import workflow is the standard operating procedure for all content management within the Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x product line. This process will remain the standard until you migrate to a future platform, such as VMware Cloud Foundation (vCF) 9.
