VCF Operations/Automation (formerly VMware Aria Suite)

Issue/Introduction

  • After the cloud account credentials have been updated, Validation of the new credentials succeeds, but the page is stuck on Loading Configuration.
  • The vCenter Endpoint is accessible using the new credentials
  • The account used to connect to the vCenter Cloud Account has the appropriate permissions assigned as per the documentation: Credentials required for working with cloud accounts in VMware Aria Automation

Environment

Aria Automation 8.x

Cause

Issue occurs due to cached endpoint credentials

Resolution

Restart the provisioning-service-app pod to release the cached credentials

  1. SSH into one appliance with the root account

  2. Restart the provisioning-service-app pod
    kubectl -n prelude delete pod -l app=provisioning-service-app
Note: this will restart the pod on nodes in the cluster

  3. Monitor the provisioning-service-app pod(s) to ensure it is running
kubectl -n prelude get pods | grep provisioning-service-app

  4. After the Service is running, return to Aria automation UI under Infrastructure > Connections Cloud Accounts > Open the affected Cloud Account

  5. Update and validate the vCenter credentials

  6. Save the endpoint

  7. Verify that Data collection is completing successfully after a 10-minute cycle
