Applying patch VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle (vLCM) 8.18 Patch 3 fails

Issue/Introduction

• Error in  /var/log/vrlcm/os-package-update.log similar to below extract 

  2025-08-22T07:50:35+00:00 Error: Packages - tcsh - are not available in the target repo for OS upgrade. Please provide the correct repo having the required packages.Original list of RPMs and RPM DB are stored in /tmp/photon-upgrade-Ojh,  please provide contents of that folder along with system journal  logs for analysis; these logs can be captured using command-
   # /usr/bin/journalctl -xa > /tmp/photon-upgrade-Ojh/journal.log
   Cannot continue. Aborting.

Environment

LCM 8.18.x

Cause

As part of the upgrade process it checks for packages installed and it found tsch package that is not a required package 

Resolution

Take snapshot of LCM before applying below steps as per kb: Managing snapshots in vSphere Web Client 

1. Remove the package tcsh 

   rpm -e <package-name>

2. Apply patch following the steps in kb VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18 Patch 3 Installation Runbook
