Issue/Introduction

The datastores do not appear to be mounted in time.

Forcing a storage rescan on the affected clusters partially resolves the issue.

Environment

SRM 8.x,  9.0.x

VR 8.x,  9.0.x

Cause

Storage and ESXi host need more time to mount datastore than default SRM timeout values.

Resolution

Modify SRM advance setting on both sites as below:

SRM SITE- Manage-Advances Settings-Storage provider
storageProvider.hostRescanDelaySec                              90
storageProvider.datastoreUnmountRetryCount                 5
storageProvider.hostRescanRepeatCnt                             3
storageProvider.hostRescanTimeoutSec                           900
storageProvider.waitForAccessibleDatastoreTimeoutSec 120
storageProvider.waitForRecoveredDatastoreTimeoutSec 90
storageProvider.waitForVmfsVolumesMountedStateTimeoutSec 90
storageProvider.resignatureFailureRetryCount                 3
storageProvider.batchDetachTimeoutSec                         5400

SRM SITE- Manage-Advances Settings-Storage
storage.commandTimeout                                900
storage.maxConcurrentCommandCnt              90
storage.minDsGroupComputationInterval         30
