Incomplete Provisioning Role Search Results in Policy Xpress

Issue/Introduction

Use this procedure to modify the default search screen in Policy Xpress. This ensures that the Role Search returns all available Provisioning roles rather than only those scoped to the current user.

Environment

• Product: CA Identity Manager
• Component: Policy Xpress
• Version: 14.5, 15

Cause

When you browse for Provisioning roles within a Policy Xpress action, the search returns incomplete results or misses roles that you expect to see.

The default search screen for the Action Rules tab in your Policy Xpress tasks is set to "Default Provisioning Role Search," which restricts results to roles you own or are scoped to view.

Resolution

You must update the task configuration to use the "Default Provisioning Role All Search" screen. Follow these steps for both "Create Policy Xpress Policy" and "Modify Policy Xpress Policy" tasks:

1. Access the Identity Manager User Console.
2. Navigate to Roles and Tasks > Modify Admin Task.
3. Search for and select the Create Policy Xpress Policy task.
4. Navigate to the Tabs tab.
5. Click the Action Rules tab.
6. Change the Provisioning Role Search Screen to Default Provisioning Role All Search.
7. Save the task.
8. Repeat these steps for the Modify Policy Xpress Policy task.
