VCF Operations Management Pack for Amazon Web Services : Partial Data Collection Issue for ECS

Issue/Introduction

• Data Collection from the VCF Operations Management pack for AWS is not collecting all the objects from AWS ECS, preventing a full data collection impacts customer's ability to monitor AWS ECS
• AWS adapter shows status "OK"
• Internal validation tests passed successfully, however the ECS object data remains missing
• Exception seen in collector logs :
  
  com.vmware.adapter3.amazonaws.AWSECSManager.refreshServices - Failed to Execute services Collect task
java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: software.amazon.awssdk.services.ecs.model.InvalidParameterException: service names can have at most 10 items.

Aria Operations 8.18.3

Cause

Data Collection from AWS services fails when more than 10 services are configured in a given cluster

Resolution

Currently there is no resolution.

Broadcom is aware of the issue and a fix will be provided in a future release.

 

As a workaround, you can design your own Management Pack using the Management Pack SDK.
