How can I improve performance in the TMS Batch job TMSCLEAN?

 

 

 

 

 

Resolution

By having the option UNCATA=NO will help improve the performance of TMSCLEAN.  With UNCATA=NO TMSCLEAN will not request that the dataset be uncataloged at the time the tape goes scratch.  The output from the EARLOUT DD in TMSCLEAN should be saved and then passed on to the batch job TMSUNCAT to do the uncataloging of the datasets after TMSCLEAN ends.  TMSUNCAT should be executed shortly after TMSCLEAN ends to prevent any discrepancies.
