• SSH access to Aria Operations for Networks nodes using the root account is not working
• The root user password for the Aria Operations for Networks appliances is not known
• Resetting the root user account password on Aria Operations for Networks appliances is not allowed

Cause

In Aria Operations for Networks, root login is restricted and not accessible to customers. It is reserved exclusively for VMware support personnel during troubleshooting activities. 

Resolution

In Aria Operations for Networks, root login is restricted and not available to customers. It is reserved exclusively for support use during troubleshooting. Therefore, resetting the root password is not possible.

To log In to the VMware Aria Operations for Networks Command-Line Interface, use consoleuser.
