Issue/Introduction

Database admins may observe failed triggers and/or empty tables and want to delete these triggers or tables. 

Customers may ask to verify the usage of tables from their environment.

How should we advise in this situation?

Environment

All supported versions of Service Desk Manager

Resolution

First and foremost, reference an environment that is as similar as possible to the customers.

A similar test or non production environment is best. 

These major configurations should match:

  • Same RU patch (same Major version is acceptable but not as accurate be sure to check the release notes of all patches leading up to the current RU patch)
  • Database
  • Operating System
  • Installed Products

While comparing environments, also note that just because a table is empty does not mean that it will stay that way and can be safely deleted.

Database admins will need to confirm that the failed triggers are indeed failing in the working production environment
