No cell borders in Jaspersoft Excel export in in the latest Jaspersoft Build 9.0

Issue/Introduction

Customer running Clarity Advanced Reporting is using the export to excel option for the report and not finding the table borders visible in excel exports

Environment

Clarity 16.3.3 with Jaspersoft 9.0 (Build 9.0.0_6.6.0.1.1)

Cause

By default configuration the cell borders are suppressed in applicationContext.xml (<Jasper Installation Location>\apache-tomcat\webapps\jasperserver-pro\WEB-INF) in bean xlsExportParameters through property 

<property name="ignoreCellBorder" value="true"/>

 

 

Resolution

Edit the cell border property applicationContext.xml to switch to false and the cell borders should start appearing

<property name="ignoreCellBorder" value="false"/>
