Resolution

SARPAC utility functions in two phases as below:

Phase 1: In this phase SARPAC will build a table of all tapes defined in the database and determine what tapes would be affected for consolidation based on the specified consolidation criteria (Ex: PTHRESH, PMXTAPES, and PMXYEARS)

Phase 2: In this Phase, SARPAC will select all those tapes and begin moving the reports to new output tapes.

If the SARPAC job is running through Phase1, we don't want to update the PMXTAPES parameter because it may disrupt the current process of building the table and may produce unexpected results.

If the SARPAC job is complete with Phase 1 and goes through the Phase 2 process, we can update the PMXTAPES parameter. But please note, even if you recycle th SARSTC task, the current SARPAC run will still consider the original PMXTAPES value. This is because it already has the affected tapes for consolidation identified in Phase1. The updated PMXTAPES value will be in effect for future scheduled SARPAC jobs.

Our recommendation is to let the current SARPAC complete itself before making any changes to the parameters.
