When opening the GSS Web Console, you may receive an error stating server error in /gss application, as shown in the following screenshot:
Server Error in '/gss' Application
The view '~/app/index/index.cshtml' or its master was not found or no view engine supports the searched locations. The following locations were searched: ~/app/index/index.cshtml
In addition, the end user may be repeatedly prompted for their user credentials

Improper security on the folder/file.
The first step would be to investigate the IIS logs. Look for the URL that contains gss/server. For example: http://example.example.com/gss/server
Notice that you may see something similar to the following:
2025-08-27 19:57:59 IPAddress of Client GET /gss - 80 UserName Mozilla/5.0+(Windows+NT+10.0;+Win64;+x64)+AppleWebKit/537.36+(KHTML,+like+Gecko)+Chrome/138.0.0.0+Safari/537.36+Edg/138.0.0.0 - 401 5 0 27
IIS records a 401.5 error. From the original error, it seems to be having trouble with the index.cshtml file. This file is located, by default, in the folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\WebConsole\Web\app\index. Review the permissions on this file. Both the local Administrators group and the Authenticated Users group need full control. In this situation Authenticated Users group was missing.
Instead of modifying the file permissions on this one file, it may be best to modify the permissions on the app folder under, by default, C:\Program Files (x86)\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\WebConsole\Web
