Getting old alarms after restarting Primary

Issue/Introduction

After deleting the DDMDB on the Secondary because the Primary side get a few old alarms when they stop it.  This seems to looking good.

However, when the Primary side is started, a lot of old alarms are observed.  Instead of deleting the DDMD, what else can be done to address these old alarms so they won't be created?

Environment

Release : All Supported Releases

Resolution

On the secondary:

  1. Stop the SS
  2. Delete the *.ix and *.db files in the $SPECROOT/SS directory
  3. Run an online backup to sync the db
  4. Start the SS

Then on the primary:

  1. Stop the SS
  2. Delete the *.ix and *.db files in the $SPECROOT/SS directory
  3. Reload the SSdb from the most recent save file
  4. Start the SS
