- Standard switch has vmk0 interface along with 2 uplinks
- One of the uplink is moved to the LAG group in VDS, LAG group configuration with 1 uplink:
- When you move the vmk0 management interface from VSS to VDS, it fails with error:
"An error occurred while communicating with the remote host. Network configuration change disconnected the host from vCenter server and has been rolled back."
- No Vlan tagging on the standard switch (source port group)
- Destination port group on DVS has the VLAN tag
- Native VLAN is setup on physical switch side to pass the traffic
VMware ESXi
- This issue is caused due to the remote end (physical switch) configuration has native VLAN and the destination portgroup has a VLAN tag, due to which vmk0 is not getting moved to VDS
(The Native VLAN is not tagged and thus requires no VLAN ID to be set on the ESXi portgroup)
Match the VLAN settings on both the source and destination port groups depending on the underlying physical configurations and then attempt to migrate vmk0 from VSS to VDS
