Error: "Unrecognized model - VA084" while running powervault_probe.py

Issue/Introduction

During the configuration stage of the Dell Security Analytics storage, the documentation states you should run the powervault_probe.py script.  You may encounter the following error

Unrecognized model - VA084

Dell VA084 Storage Array

 

Cause

If the configuration script notices anything strange with the current configuration, especially if there are missing drives that should be there, it will fail with the above message.  

Resolution

Log in to the Powervault storage manager and look for any disk failures or for any missing drives that should be there.  If you see items missing like the example below, the script will fail.  The screenshot below show missing drives in slots 0.0 as well as 0.72.  Contact technical support for assistance with requesting an RMA for drive replacement.
