Hands-on Lab is loading slowly or appears to take a long time to start

Issue/Introduction

A Lab is launching or loading slowly. Most labs, if pre-populated, will load in 3-5 minutes. 

Cause

Labs often run background setup scripts at initial launch or startup. We recommend having at least 300-500 Kbps of bandwidth per client and 240ms or less of latency. We find that taking a lab in a shared Wi-Fi network may result in a less-than-optimal experience. If you do not have complete control of your Wi-Fi network, we recommend you use cabled, dedicated networking. 

Resolution

To alleviate these symptoms, we recommend that, once the lab is loaded, users spend a few minutes reviewing the lab manual first to allow the labs to "warm up."

1. Go to HOL Speed Test.
2. Use the Compatibility Checker when you start the VMware Hands-on Labs.
