Issue/Introduction

When exporting percentage data from Clarity to Excel, users may encounter rounding discrepancies due to Clarity's different rounding behavior for display versus export. While Clarity rounds percentages for display based on the system's settings, the raw, unrounded values are exported to Excel. This can result in the total percentages appearing slightly different in the exported file compared to what is shown in Clarity.

Resolution

This is working as designed, Clarity does not apply the same rounding for both grid display and export. When exporting to Excel, the export does not set a specific rounding scheme; instead, Clarity exports only the raw numbers, not the rounded ones displayed in the grid. As a workaround, you can try setting two decimal places (or your desired number of decimal places) using Excel's formatting options. Although this is an extra step, it should naturally round the percentages for reporting and ensure that the rounding aligns in both Clarity and the exported data.

To ensure consistency between Clarity's displayed percentages and the exported data in Excel, follow these steps:

  1. Export the data from Clarity to Excel.
  2. Format Percentages in Excel: Format Cells, under the Number tab, select Percentage and set the decimal places to 2 (or as desired).
  3. Excel will automatically round the percentages to the set decimal places, ensuring consistent rounding for both display and export.
