NTP validation check for "VMware Aria Automation" component within SDDC Manager fails

Issue/Introduction

• NTP validation check on the SDDC component (VMware Aria Automation) failed with the following warning:

  VMware Aria Automation: <FQDN-of-Aria-Automation-Node1> NTP is not configured as expected. Configured ["], Expected: ['ntp_address_1', 'ntp_address_2','ntp_address_3']
VMware Aria Automation: <FQDN-of-Aria-Automation-Node2> NTP is not contigured as expected. Configured ["], Expected: ['ntp_address_1', 'ntp_address_2','ntp_address_3']
VMware Arta Automation: <FQDN-of-Aria-Automation-Node3> NTP is not contigured as expected. Configured ["], Expected: ['ntp_address_1', 'ntp_address_2','ntp_address_3']

• SoS NTP health check ran on the SDDC Manager VM shows a "YELLOW" status for the Aria Automation nodes. 

'/opt/vmware/sddc-support --ntp-health' or '/opt/vmware/sddc-support/sos --health-check'

• /var/log/vmware/vcf/sddc-support/vcf-sos.log within SDDC Manager contains below entries:

Automation:<FQDN-of-Aria-Automation-Node> at product level: , timeSyncMode: host
INFO [vcf_sos] [progressreporter. py: :update_task_status :: 214 ::_ parallel_check_vrealize_products_ntp_configuredThread1] Update NTP-CHECK:<FQDN-of-Aria-Automation-Node>: NTP Status with status : NOT_COMPLETED

Environment

Cause

• This problem arises when the NTP configurations for Aria Automation are not synchronized between Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager and the SDDC Manager.

• An example of this mismatch is when the timeSyncMode for the Aria Automation environment in Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager is configured to "host," but the corresponding setting in SDDC Manager is "NTP."

Resolution

To resolve this, follow the below steps:

1. Perform an inventory sync for the Aria Automation environment from Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager Inventory synchronization in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle and update NTP if needed using Day 2 operations with other products in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.

2. To confirm the state, SSH into the SDDC Manager VM and re-run the NTP health check using the following command:
