vSphere Client does not reflect Browser Default datetime format

Issue/Introduction

In the vSphere Client, users cannot set the datetime format to match the browser default.

When selecting a datetime format through My Preferences > Language > Browser Default (for example, English (New Zealand) with format DD/MM/YYYY), the vSphere Client continues to display the datetime in English (US) format (MM/DD/YYYY).

Environment

vCenter 8.x

Cause

The vSphere Client did not correctly inherit and apply the browser’s locale-specific datetime format. This mismatch results in the UI continuing to display dates in US format despite the browser default being configured otherwise.

Resolution

• This issue has been resolved in VMware vCenter Server 8.0 Update 3g.
• Upgrading to this release ensures the vSphere Client correctly reflects the browser default datetime format.
