Issue/Introduction

• Re-deploying WCP using NSX Advanced Load Balancer (ALB / Avi) as the networking solution fails with the error: Resource Type Deployment, Identifier vmware-system-netop/vmware-system-netop-controller-manager is not found.
• In the Avi manager the newly created virtual services are down with an error: "Host selection for Service Engine creation in progress. Please wait".

Environment

NSX ALB / Avi 22.1.7

Cause

• The root cause of this issue is a stuck internal flag within the Avi Controller's workflow for Service Engine creation.
• This prevents the workflow from completing, leading to the indefinite "in progress" state and preventing the Virtual Service from becoming operational.
• It may be possible that you run into this issue when installing WCP for the first time if the Avi controller was previously used for another solution.

Resolution

Reference Avi virtual services down with error: "Host selection for Service Engine creation in progress. Please wait"
