Unable to upload umbrella virtual appliance

Issue/Introduction

• Attempts to upload an Umbrella Virtual Appliance (VA) results in errors similar to the following:
  
  One of the OVF's elements is invalid.
  
  
• In the logs, the stacktrace for the error includes indication that there was an issue processing the network connection section:
  
  com.vmware.vcloud.api.presentation.service.BadRequestException: One of the OVF's elements is invalid.
 at com.vmware.ssdc.backend.services.impl.VAppUploadManagerImpl.createNetworkConnectionSectionForUpload(VAppUploadManagerImpl.java:4869)

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

VMware Cloud Director is unable to properly process the networking for the vApp upon upload.

Resolution

In order to work around this behavior, deploy the Umbrella VA using the underlying vCenter deployment and import the resulting item into VMware Cloud Director.
