Excel Files Having Delayed Opening and Sometimes Causing Excel To Hang

Issue/Introduction

• When opening an excel file (.xls) for the first time it's slow to open.
  • When opening locally, the delay is shorter
  • When opening from a remote share, the delay is longer - generally 5-10 seconds
• After opening the same file again, it does not have this problem.

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Sensor 4.0.3 and below
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the upcoming 4.1 sensor (CRE-20867)
