When starting the XNET started task why is it failing with the error message: xntTCP900E Listener error: PXNWTSS function LISTEN - 13: Access denied.

Issue/Introduction

The XNET started task fails upon startup with the error: xntTCP900E Listener error: PXNWTSS function LISTEN - 13: Access denied.

Cause

The listener error -13 (Access Denied) will occur if PORT UNRSV TCP * DENY WHENLISTEN is stated in the TCPIP profile, but the port associated with the XNET STC 

has not been reserved for its use.

Resolution

Reserve the PORT (as stated in the XNET STC proc) for XNET's use.
